Sweet potato fries are much better for you than regular fries, but not if you deep fry them. Fortunately, it's super easy to make sweet potato fries in your air fryer, and you can do it straight from frozen!
I love sweet potato fries as a snack, but they're also an excellent side dish for your favorite vegan burgers, grilled "cheese" sandwiches or veggie nuggets.
Making the fries in the air fryer means that you'll get them crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
This method is excellent because you can easily make small batches as needed without having to heat up the oven.

Ingredients and substitutions
Frozen sweet potato fries - You can use any type of frozen sweet potato fries - I typically go for the McCain Sweet Potato Fries, which are vegan and delicious. Make sure you check the fries are vegan - most of them are, but it's always best to confirm by reading the label.
Salt - This is optional but recommended if you already know the frozen potatoes you use are not as salty as you'd like. Some fine table salt is perfect here.
How to make air fryer frozen sweet potato fries
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Place the frozen sweet potato fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Sprinkle them with salt (optional).
Air fry for 12-14 minutes at 400°F (200°C), shaking the fries halfway.
Serve immediately with your favorite vegan dips, mayo or ketchup.
Recipe notes and tips
- These sweet potato fries are best served immediately. You can technically reheat them in the air fryer, but their texture will be different, and the fries will be quite dry inside.
- Do not thaw the fries before adding them to the air fryer - cook them straight from the freezer.
- Always spread the sweet potato fries in an even layer so they crisp evenly. You may need to work in batches.
